The SCILL Commission is hosting during the Commissions Month a set of four sessions where skills, career, innovation, leadership and learning are combined. To create a high quality programme and deliver the best content, SCILL will team up with excellent coaches, several AIJA Commissions and the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA).
Skills - Online speaking session
This session will focus on how to be at one’s best in an online environment. This includes information on optimal presentation as well as tips on how best use the lighting, dress-up and much more.
CAREER - Business Development
Through this session you will gain a deep understanding of what business development really means for lawyers, dispel some myths, overcome limiting beliefs and identify the one perfect strategy for you as a unique individual.
INNOVATION - Legal Tech Development
This session will give the participants of the Commissions Month the opportunity to share their personal experience in developing legal tech tools, insights on the digitalisation of the law and much more. The session will be co-organised with the ELTA.
LEADERSHIP & LEARNING - Movie night session “Up in the air” - challenges of working in crisis scenarios
Collective redundancies, bankruptcies, insolvencies – how to face moral restraints, burn-outs and other risks for lawyers. In post Covid times, restructurings will probably constitute a relevant market for lawyers. This will, however, imply in certain situations having to advise clients on decisions which may imply severe consequences for other people. A discussion between lawyers and other professionals.

We've all turned into online speakers lately – from video conference calls with clients and colleagues to speaking engagements at webinars. This session will focus on how to be at your best in an online environment. Tammy Parrish, image consultant, will reveal the do's and don'ts of camera position, light, background, and dress and grooming for online presentations, and will include an evaluation of session participants' first impressions. Wendy Rundberg, public speaking coach, will provide insight on the ways to use speaking and gestures to get your message across effectively. Participants will also have time to ask questions in an informal Q&A session.

Larry Markowitz serves as senior advisor at NATIONAL Public Relations, Canada’s leading public relations firm, where he helps clients deliver the right message to the right people at the right time.
- Nan Sato is Special Counsel in the Fisher Phillips Philadelphia office. Nan is an international attorney who is fluent in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and English and has working knowledge of Spanish. She advises international companies on employment matters around the globe.
- Geraldo Fonseca is experienced insolvency lawyer and managing partner of Fonseca Vannucci Abreu Advogados. He is Professor at the Catholic University and author of several books about Insolvency and Civil Procedure. Geraldo holds a PhD in Procedural Law and is an AIJA member since 2019.

There are currently no registration fees available.General terms and conditions
By registering you have to accept the general terms and conditions and accept that your registration is considered binding immediately, but participation to the event is possible only after full payment of the registration fee.
Please note that any arrangements related to the participation of the participant in an AIJA event, including but not limited to booking or cancellation of accommodation or flights, as well as respecting the cancellation deadlines indicated in the general terms and conditions, are the sole responsibility of the participant. AIJA shall not be held liable for any expenses the participant may suffer as the result of participant’s failure to comply with his/her obligations.
It is recommended for each participant to purchase a cancellation and travel insurance.
Please note that in-house counsel registrations are subject to review and confirmation by AIJA. AIJA considers in-house counsel professionals who hold a university degree in law allowing access to a bar association and practicing law as an in-house counsel in private, public, or non-profit companies, institutions or organisations. Please note that in-house counsel who are at the same time active as fee-earning lawyers or consultants are not eligible to the discounted in-house counsel fee.

Your data will be managed by AIJA's General Services, Events and Accounts Section:
- For the purpose of administering your registration for the event and your on-site access to the event;
- In order to pay for the selected services - your bank details will be deleted after receipt of your payment;
- In order to communicate information messages from AIJA.
To the extent necessary for the execution of their respective tasks, our subcontractors in charge of our seminar organisation, our IT infrastructure, our management, the production and maintenance of our website and extranet, are likely to gain access to your data from time to time. Their servers are located in the European Union.
Data relating to your participation in the event shall be stored for a period of 10 years. We are obliged to archive billing data until the end of the period required for our tax and accounting obligations, i.e. for 7 full tax years.
We shall store your contact information to keep you informed until you ask us to stop. You have the right to access your data and have it corrected if necessary.
