Event Overview

In 2020 why not celebrate diversity and equality by supporting LGBTQIA+ rights, challenging yourself to complete a running, cycling, or walking activity in a team anywhere in the world, anytime between 1 to 5 July 23:59 CEST.

As part of our association’s commitment to diversity this year, AIJA invites all runners, cyclists, or power walkers, to show their support and pride by participating in a world tour challenge to celebrate our 58th anniversary on 1 July.

Anyone, anywhere, can take part!

WE'RE RAISING FUNDS FOR ILGA WORLD

The way it works is simple.

1. Sign up to join a team in your country

  • Register by Monday, 29 June, at midnight, by following this link.
  • Within a few days of your entry, you’ll be sent a welcome email confirming your place and national team. You will be invited to your team’s WhatsApp group where you can meet other participants.
  • With your team, agree on the distance you’re completing individually. You can then choose your own route, your own starting time, and your own pace. Each national team has to complete at least 58km between 1 to 5 July.
  • Spread the word on social media by inviting others to sign up or sponsor your participation in the challenge with a donation at this link. Here you can find a toolkit which can you use to promote your participation in the challenge. Some hashtags and emojis you can use in your post: #weareaija, #aijaworldtour, #worldpride2020,

2. Run/ bike/ walk with pride

  • Wear pride. Put on something linked to the cause (e.g. rainbow pin, t-shirt in one of the colours of the rainbow, rainbow socks/accessories), and/or something related to AIJA (e.g. red t-shirt, SOS Avocats t-shirt, AIJA written or painted on skin, Rio congress flip-flops, AIJA badge, etc).
  • Run, bike or walk using any tracking app such as Strava, RunKeeper, Runtastic, etc and then submit your time along with some photographs, selfies and videos capturing a moment from your activity in your team’s WhatsApp group. These will be published on AIJA’s social media.
  • Show pride. Why not show solidarity by publishing a photo from your activity and asking friends to sponsor your participation at this link. Some hashtags and emojis you can use in your social media post: #weareaija, #aijaworldtour, #worldpride2020,

3. Support with pride
