AIJA will be hosting its very first Asia Regional Meeting in the vibrant city of Hong Kong! Please join us for the first AIJA Asia Regional Meeting on Friday, 13 October 2023 from 14:00 (HKT) in Hong Kong where we will be discussing current issues such as ESG from an Asian perspective and the ever-challenging issues of enforcement in Asian jurisdictions. This event will be held at the beautiful and centrally located HKIAC (Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre) venue and will be free of charge, thanks to the sponsors and their support.

In addition to two panel discussions, there will be networking coffee breaks. You can also join an optional traditional Chinese lunch and/or a Chinese seafood dinner at a fishing village and one of the oldest settlements of Hong Kong. By attending this event, you will be able to fully enjoy all HK has to offer (riveting legal discussions and great networking, good food and amazing views)

In this post-Covid world, cross-border trade and transactions are on the rise which has inevitably led to an increase in cross-border disputes. This panel will focus on the practicalities of obtaining and enforcing a judgment or arbitral award in various Asian jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam and the common challenges faced with enforcement and asset recovery. Please note that in-house counsel registrations are subject to review and confirmation by AIJA. AIJA considers in-house counsel professionals who hold a university degree in law allowing access to a bar association and practicing law as an in-house counsel in private, public, or non-profit companies, institutions or organisations. Please note that in-house counsel who are at the same time active as fee-earning lawyers or consultants are not eligible to the discounted in-house counsel fee.

To the extent necessary for the execution of their respective tasks, our subcontractors in charge of our seminar organisation, our IT infrastructure, our management, the production and maintenance of our website and extranet, are likely to gain access to your data from time to time. Their servers are located in the European Union.

Data relating to your participation in the event shall be stored for a period of 10 years. We are obliged to archive billing data until the end of the period required for our tax and accounting obligations, i.e. for 7 full tax years.
