Event Overview

The AIJA Women Network is delighted to announce the 2nd AIJA Women’s Network Retreat and Leadership Weekend at the beautiful Castello di Spaltenna located near Gaiole in Chianti, Italy, about an hour from Florence airport.

This event will take place from Thursday 02 May to Sunday 05 May 2024. With the intimate setting of the venue and the focus of this retreat being specifically designed for leadership training and networking for women in the legal profession, 28 places are open to women lawyers on a first-come, first-served basis. Other Network events will continue to be open to a wider group of participants. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

If you have any questions, please contact Charlotte Tregunna, Margherita Stucchi or Maria Jennerholm.

PROGRAMME

This year the retreat will be structured around two leadership workshops that will take place on Friday 03 May and Saturday 04 May. The workshops will cover:

  • Empower and Lead: Harnessing Emotional Intelligence for Leaders in Law
  • Awakening Female Power: Leadership for Young Female Lawyers.

These workshops will be delivered by expert Gabriella Carello of the Consea Group, who specialises in training managers in emotional intelligence drawing on neuroscience. The objectives of the workshops will be to:

  • Develop the full potential of women in law;
  • Bridge the gap between business focused and value based leadership;
  • Support the AWN in creating personal and professional action plan for leadership (or future leadership) within law.

The workshops will be interactive and everyone will be given the opportunity to contribute and develop their skills throughout the weekend.

The workshops will run for a total of 3 hours per day over two days, so there will also be plenty of time to relax and connect with new and old AWN members, as well as enjoy the hotel’s facilities, including the pools and spa, play tennis or head out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

COST

Given the popularity of the resort, the places available are based on two people sharing each room. There are no single rooms available.

There are two prices available:

  • 14 places in Deluxe Rooms at a cost of EUR 680 per person
  • 14 places in Superior Rooms at a cost of EUR 770 per person.

The price includes three nights at the resort, breakfast and the cost of the workshop. Lunches and dinners are not covered and must be paid for on-site. However, there is an optional dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant, which we have secured at a special price of EUR 80 for three courses, which will take place on Saturday night.

Transport is not included. We encourage you to try and share taxis or rental cars from Florence airport where possible.

Departure is envisaged on Sunday morning.

DEADLINE FOR RESPONDING

As we need to ensure that we have sufficient participation to determine whether the AWN can go ahead as planned, we require your responses by Friday 09 February 2024. We will then notify you as to whether there will be any adjustments to the programme, as well as provide details of payment and cancellation terms.

Please e-mail Cassandra Bozikovic and Hélène Préchac if you would like to participate and whether you would prefer the Deluxe or Superior room. If you have a preferred bedfellow, please also state that.
