AIJA is thrilled to invite you to Montreal, Canada for the 4th AIJA Americas Meeting on Friday 31 January. 

Legal Innovation Lab: Navigating Law and Business in the Americas

The event will bring together lawyers and industry leaders from across the Americas to collaborate on innovative legal solutions for today and tomorrow’s challenges. Participants will explore the dynamic and evolving landscape of dispute, trade, labour, commercial transactions and competition across the continent. More specifically, participants will explore hot topics such as the impact of recent elections in major jurisdictions, transaction and dispute redtape, the face of the workforce of the future, and will learn skills from eminent experts in a practical workshop.

Further, the event will offer participants unique networking opportunities and allow them to learn about recent trends in their neighbouring jurisdictions, expanding their knowledge and expertise.

By registering you have to accept the general terms and conditions and accept that your registration is considered binding immediately, but participation to the event is possible only after full payment of the registration fee.

Please note that any arrangements related to the participation of the participant in an AIJA event, including but not limited to booking or cancellation of accommodation or flights, as well as respecting the cancellation deadlines indicated in the general terms and conditions, are the sole responsibility of the participant. AIJA shall not be held liable for any expenses the participant may suffer as the result of participant’s failure to comply with his/her obligations.

It is recommended for each participant to purchase a cancellation and travel insurance.

Please note that in-house counsel registrations are subject to review and confirmation by AIJA. AIJA considers in-house counsel professionals who hold a university degree in law allowing access to a bar association and practicing law as an in-house counsel in private, public, or non-profit companies, institutions or organisations. Please note that in-house counsel who are at the same time active as fee-earning lawyers or consultants are not eligible to the discounted in-house counsel fee.

Prepare your stay

AIJA pre-blocked rooms at Le Westin Montreal at a group preferential rate. Please note that rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability on the required date(s).

The preferential rate has limited rooms and is valid until Monday, December 30, 2024 (cut-off date)

AIJA Group Rates:

  • TRADITIONAL ROOM: 219.00 CAD per night (single or double occupnacy)

BREAKFAST:

Breakfast is not included in the room rate and is $33.00++ per person.

CHECK-IN:

Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is at 12:00 pm.

PARKING:

Valet. Daily: $45.00. Electric Car Charging Station available. Guests can also park at the convention center located right in front of the Westin.

ROOM CANCELLATION POLICY

Guests may cancel their reservation without penalty until 4:00 PM, hotel local time, three (3) days prior to their scheduled arrival. Cancellations made after this deadline will be charged a one (1) night penalty, plus applicable taxes.

GUEST DEPOSITS

A credit card deposit equal to the first night stay (plus applicable taxes) will be charged at the time a guest makes a room reservation, and upon check in, will be applied towards the guest’s bill. Deposits paid by guest are refundable if notice is received by Hotel at least 3 days prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.’

Group reservation conditions:

  • Extra person charge (3rd and 4th person) sharing a room is $40.00 CAD per person, per night. Additional charge for additional bedding (cot) is $30.00 per room, per night. Please note that rooms with 2 beds cannot accommodate a cot. Children under 18 years old may share parent’s rooms at no extra charge with existing bedding.
  • All above rates are in Canadian dollars and do not include taxes applicable at the time of your event. Currently the applicable taxes are the following: a City tax of 3.5 % per room, per night plus Government sales taxes totaling 14.98% (5% Goods and services Tax + 9.975% Provincial Sales Tax). These taxes are subject to change without notice.
  • Complimentary Internet: At Le Westin Montréal, all meeting spaces, guestrooms and suites are equipped with complimentary High
    Speed Internet access (Wi-Fi).
  • Smoke Free Policy: The Hotel is a smoke free establishment. This includes all public spaces as well as Hotel rooms. To protect the
    smoke free environment, Hotel will charge a $250 CND plus applicable taxes cleaning fee to the account of any guest who smokes in
    their guest room.

Addiitionally, for a Grand Final of our Friday gathering, our fantastic local members are organising a Home Hospitality dinner.

To the extent necessary for the execution of their respective tasks, our subcontractors in charge of our seminar organisation, our IT infrastructure, our management, the production and maintenance of our website and extranet, are likely to gain access to your data from time to time. Their servers are located in the European Union.

Data relating to your participation in the event shall be stored for a period of 10 years. We are obliged to archive billing data until the end of the period required for our tax and accounting obligations, i.e. for 7 full tax years.

We shall store your contact information to keep you informed until you ask us to stop. You have the right to access your data and have it corrected if necessary.
