Who we are
Our Commission focuses on a variety of areas of private client law, from the more traditional disciplines such as family, succession, estate and real estate law, procedural law, trusts and other wealth protection structures for individuals and families; to others which are more business-oriented such as business law, bankruptcy law, tax law and labour law involving private clients-related aspects (e.g. family enterprises, child labour).
Depending on the matter, our focus area can also expand into other fields such as consumer protection and the law of torts. In today’s globalised world, our Commission provides its members with useful comparisons between different legal systems in the world.
We seek to initiate and participate in joint and interdisciplinary projects. To this end, we work in cooperation with other AIJA Commissions (e.g. Tax Law, European Law, Real Estate Law, Banking & Finance Law etc.) and external partners (e.g. ABA-Section of International Law and the Deutscher Anwaltsverein - DAV).
